I’ve written a few books and designed more books for other authors. Book publishing and marketing to build audiences of engaged followers has earned me experience in advanced digital marketing.
Park Hacks
Brand and Platform
I had been studying the process and the new advantages of self-publishing. I had many interests, so at first, I didn’t know what topic to pursue with focused effort. A frequent visitor to amusement parks like Kings Island, Cedar Point, and Walt Disney World, in 2015 I realized that my knowledge of amusement parks would be a fun first try at making a real, published book.
I knew that to make a successful book, one must have a platform. Over the next few months, I began a blog and building a list of Facebook followers. Then in the Fall of 2016 I published my first book Kings Island Park Hacks to Kindle and soon after to paperback.
Over the next year, I expanded the ideas to fit any amusement park. I added a co-author. She provided a complementary perspective and gave Park Hacks greater trust and exposure among the park enthusiast community. I published Amusement Park Hacks about one year after my first book. Although they are both due for updates, both are still selling today.
Recently, after observing that I and many amusement park visitors track what they do when they visit parks, I saw an opportunity to add a low-content book to the lineup the Park Hacks: Amusement Park Journal. This book has valuable content but also includes large guided or prompted areas where the reader can record their own thoughts and experiences. It launched in May 2020 and is already selling at a startling pace!
